Christmas-ness

I know it is late, but... here is how I decorated for Christmas..

I made the bricks, stockings (all lined with pretty christmas fabric!) and the logs/fire :)

Taj Mahal

I like expanding themes, and not going for the obvious costume.. so when the theme was Bollywood I knew I had to make something spectacular (the fact that I had lots of uni work to do and was looking to procrastinate might have helped).. so after thinking about it for a while... the Taj Mahal was born.. after lots of looking at pictures and doing (very rough) sketches, I decided to start and see what happened.. the original plan was a necklace, but ah well these things happen (and happen to work!)

Maxi Dress with a difference

I don't like Maxi Dresses, but this dress (material $3 from Salvo's) just sort of turned into one (then turned into a shorter dress, and can change back.. ooo fancy!)

So how does it work?!
Basically there are 4 buttons, two on the outside on each side of the waist and two on the inside in the same place.. then a braid is attached between the two buttons on each side, holding up the material.. magic!

Button Shoes!

I bought plain white shoes and decided they were boring.. so after looking through my crafting supplies I decided that buttons were the answer..

And although my fingers were sore, and my button collection severely depleted.. I think they were worth it
